With more than 6 million consoles sold in France since its launch in 2017, the Switch will still be one of the stars of Christmas. Here are the games released in 2021 that we recommend.
Super mario 3D World
Nintendo continues to port the best video games of its mascot to Switch. The unmistakable mustachioed came to accompany last February with Super Mario 3D World, a title released for Wii U in 2013, and which has made a big comeback with, as a bonus, an unprecedented adventure: Bower’s Fury. For players who have missed this game, remember that Super Mario 3D World mixed the best of 3D, and levels designed to be explored like a 2D world. A particular choice which sets this episode apart in the saga which had taken a very different turn, since the unforgettable Super Mario 64 (1996).
If some players had regretted not having been entitled to Super Mario 3D World in the Super Mario 3D All Stars compilation published at the end of last year, here is their wait finally rewarded. Like any good Mario game, this opus deserved its place in the Switch game library. A rich and user-friendly game that even has the luxury of offering itself a new story through the very successful Bowser’s Fury.

No need for special effects and luxurious 3D production to move players and leave lasting memories. This is further proved by Eastward, a small, pixelated 2D masterpiece edited by Chucklefish and masterfully produced by the very young Chinese studio Pixpil. Available on Switch and PC, this title takes us into a post-apocalyptic world. We meet the duo John and Sam there. The first is a laconic miner of impressive strength who plays Sam’s surrogate father, a gray-haired girl endowed with surprising powers. Rejected by their city, they will above all have to face the dangers that reign in a devastated world.
If the first steps in the world of Eastward are quite classic, the artistic direction is enough to catch the eye of the informed gamer who will remember the detailed and sublime pixel art of Mother 3 on Game Boy Advance. It’s an understatement to say that Eastward is one of the most beautiful pixelated 2D games around. Above all, the Pixpil studio hides its game well to offer a much richer story than one could have imagined, with its share of twists and turns that constantly renew the gameplay experience. Over more than twenty-five hours of adventure, Eastward offers a story that is both poignant and wonderful, carried by special care added by inspired artistic direction and pixel art of rare quality.

zelda : skyward sword hd
If Switch owners are nervous about playing Breath of the Wild 2, Nintendo has chosen to make Link and Zelda fans wait with a Skyward Sword HD remake. A title that takes us to the origins of the legends of Hyrule. In this title released on Wii ten years ago, the story tells us the origins of the divine sword that will make Link the legendary hero we know. Above all, this episode invites us to go on an aerial journey, beyond the clouds to discover lost islands, while dungeons with enemies and devious puzzles hide in the depths.
This HD version on Switch benefits from an update of its gameplay to make it more intuitive, while it will still be possible to use the Joy-Con to wield sword, bow and shield thanks to the motion detectors if it is possible. wish.

Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl Pokémon
To celebrate 25 years of the Pokémon franchise, Nintendo is releasing two versions of the same game released in 2007 on DS. Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Pokémon Sparkling Pearl bring back to life a colorful adventure full of secrets. Players will be able to (re) conquer the lands of Sinnoh where 150 pokémons are nestled. The ergonomics of the original games have been completely redesigned, while a 3D graphic overhaul dresses these adventures that should hopefully amaze the daily life of fans of the franchise.

The Smurfs Mission Malfeuille
The little blue beings of Peyo come out of the boxes of the comics to offer themselves an unprecedented adventure on consoles and PC. In Mission Malfeuille, the Smurfs arm themselves with a new invention, the vaporisaschtroumpf, in order to eradicate a creeping plant invented by Gargamel to take them prisoners. If good ideas are inspired by the Luigi’s Mansion saga, Microids here develops the universe of the Smurfs in a colorful game, punctuated with humor and affordable challenges for the majority of young players. A fun title that is particularly similar to the graphic style developed for the 3D animated film The Smurfs and the Lost Village (2017).

Mario Party Superstars
Built like a board game, the Mario Party series is making a big comeback on Switch. Called Superstars, this new edition will offer to relive minigames from Nintendo 64 and Gamecube episodes, as well as a hundred additional challenges. Up to four players will be able to compete locally around board games bringing together the heroes of the universe from the character to the overalls. Often simple and full of humor, these challenges are sure to entertain families for long winter evenings.

Marsupilami: the secret of the sarcophagus
The colorful universe of Marsupilami and the jungle of Palombia, created by Franquin in 1952, come to life in a video game titled The Secret of the Sarcophagus. An unprecedented adventure that brings together the marsupials Punch, Twister and Hope, who must correct their mistakes after freeing an evil spirit contained in a sarcophagus. They will have to travel through the jungle to save the animals and discover many secrets.
At first glance, a classic platform game, Marsupilami: The Secret of the Sarcophagus comes as a pleasant surprise with gameplay inspired in particular by Sonic, Rayman Legends and Donkey Kong Country (excellent references). A title that should also appeal to the older ones looking for a good game in the genre that will survive the years.
