In 2016, Councilor María Teresa Celada had presented a draft Ordinance, where it was created the Interdisciplinary Office for the Prevention, Treatment and Punishment of Labor Violence, aimed at all municipal personnel who are faced with a situation of vulnerability caused by a superior or their peers.
The initiative was approved in the last session of 2019, and in 2020 a call for competition was made to fill the position of Coordinator of the same. Finally, This October 12, the person who will carry out the task of fighting for the rights and well-being of workers was met.
Councilor Celada expressed: “After much dialogue, joint work and a process that guaranteed transparency, we have voted in a special session for Johana Rojas to be the one to carry out the coordination.”
“The Ordinance of creation established that applicants to fill the position had to comply with background requirements, both personal and technical. Once they had been evaluated, they took two theoretical exams and then presented their proposals in a public hearing. Now, it is time to get down to work, the process is complete and the position has a face and a name of its own, “he said.
“October 12 will go down in history for all the workers of the Municipality of Resistencia. Now they have someone to turn to if they are a victim of workplace violence. A healthy work environment, which not only benefits the worker but also the entire community, is possible. We continue to expand rights ”, he concluded.
