Cardi B makes LGBTQI+ marriage official

Cardi B has another awesome title to add to your resume: Wedding officiant!

The versatile rapper and icon who has just welcomed her second child with Offset, is now licensed to officiate weddings, and she is starting to lead an LGBTQ+ wedding in a new episode of her Cardi Tries series. Cardi shared a preview of the episode on Twitter, which aired on Friday, October 9th.

The short video posted on Twitter shows the two brides, Brandi and Shannon, and their guests being surprised by Cardi at the altar. “You’re probably wondering why I’m here,” Cardi says in the teaser, once the excitement wears off. “I will marry these two beautiful ladies. It’s not just a special day for you, but it’s a special day for me, and I want to thank you for being a part of your beautiful journey.”

As noted by Entertainment Tonight, the episode also featured Raven-Symoné, who acted as the ring bearer for Brandi and Shannon’s wedding. “Holding those rings in my hand, knowing you would officiate and waiting there, looking them in the eye, it reminded me of my wedding day, when I really wanted to see my wife in a beautiful wedding dress. “Raven says in another video shared by ET, referring to his June 2020 nuptials with Miranda Maday.

The rest of the episode leading up to the big moment shows Cardi and Raven helping with the preparations (one of the brides knew the secret). The two stars contributed almost everything, from the decor to the selection of the wedding dress itself.

“By the way, MUNDO, I’m licensed to marry people,” Cardi added on Twitter. “I do everything and it was such a rewarding thing to do and Raven was so much fun that I was so impressed.” We can imagine that the impressed feelings were mutual!
