Plot involves rituals, spells and Nazis
The long tradition of bringing the undead to Call of Duty games continues. The new Zombies mode that will be part of Call of Duty: Vanguard won one reveal trailer showing classic WWII brain eaters controlled by a relic used by a Nazi.
The production of Zombies mode is up to Treyarch, who has worked in almost every Zombie mode in the franchise and started there in 2008 with Call of Duty: World at War. Just like the base title, the zombie mode will be set in WWII. The trailer shows a high-ranking Nazi messing with what he shouldn’t.
When performing a ritual involving a relic, the Nazi is possessed by some entity that has control over the zombie army and uses the human villain to get his revenge. This is the plot, to say that there is one, since what really matters is bullets in rotten flesh.
The trailer shows soldiers using mystical abilities with crystals and relics, and the same goes for special zombies, in addition to the classic weapons of the time. Treyarch had taken a different stance towards making Zombies mode available in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. In this game, all maps were free updates, plus the addition of new modes. It’s still not sure if the same will happen in Call of Duty: Vanguard.
