A 9-year-old boy suffered first and second degree burns when he argued with another minor who accidentally threw gasoline at him and set him on fire, inside a private home in the 5 de Mayo neighborhood of Gómez Palacio.
José Miguel Martínez, director of Civil Protection, reported that at 5:53 p.m. on Tuesday, an accident report with minors was received in the house located on Adolfo López Mateos and José López Portillo streets of the aforementioned neighborhood, where the rescue corps were moved.
When the paramedics and Civil Protection elements arrived, as well as the Firefighters, they found 9-year-old little Ever José, who had first and second degree burns on his back, being treated on the spot by paramedics.
According to the version of the witnesses, José Ever played with the other minor, but then they began to argue and he accidentally threw gasoline that he found in his house and set José Ever on fire, who was immediately helped by the inhabitants of the house that also requested the help of the Red Cross.
After the first aid, the paramedics transferred the minor to the Red Cross hospital for comprehensive care, while the Civil Protection elements took data on what happened.
Both minors were burning toys that they “no longer wanted” when the aforementioned events occurred, according to the authorities.
