Kristin Demann (28) will be loaned by FC Bayern to Bundesliga promoted Cologne until the end of the season. Both clubs announced this on Friday afternoon.
She wears the Cologne jersey until summer: Kristin Demann.
In the cathedral city, the defensive specialist wants to collect more match practice after several injury-related breaks in the past year. Four ex-Munich women play at FC: Laura Donhauser, Anja Pfluger, Mandy Islacker and Eunice Beckmann. The Polish national player Weronika Zawistowska is, like Demann, loaned to Cologne by Bayern.
“We are grateful to Bayern that they made it possible for us to borrow because of our good connection,” said Nicole Bender, FC Women’s Sports Director: “Kristin can play in central defense and in the sixth position. She brings Bundesliga and Champions League experience with us and will further stabilize our defense. Kristin’s signing shows that we are on the right track in the development of our women’s football division. ”
Only two teams are more vulnerable defensively
The Cologne women are currently seventh, but have already conceded 25 goals in twelve games – with Bremen (29) and co-promoted Jena (41) only two teams are more vulnerable.
“I am very happy to be here and to play for FC,” explains Demann after her move to FC: “The Bundesliga series confirmed the impression that FC has an ambitious team that values good football. I am happy to be part of it now and I would like to contribute to a hopefully successful second half of the season with a lot of commitment and good performances. ”
Demann has been playing for Munich since 2017 and has scored five goals for Bayern in 67 competitive games so far. The 28-year-old’s contract with the reigning German champions runs until 2023.
