Schäffler was sent off on Saturday at 2-2 in Regensburg in stoppage time with the red card after he violently gripped Konrad Faber on the sideline.

The DFB sports court sentenced Schäffler on Monday to a two-game ban and a fine of 4,000 euros for “a rough game against the opponent”.

This means that the 32-year-old, who agreed to the judgment just like his employer, is missing from FCN on Friday (6.30 p.m.) against Hansa Rostock and nine days later in a guest appearance at Hamburger SV (1.30 p.m., both LIVE! At kicker).

So far, Schäffler has made five appearances this season, two of which are part of the starting XI. In Regensburg he was substituted on in the 69th minute.
