Avatar will get exclusive MMO for Android and iOS

The shooter developed by Tencent should arrive in 2022

Disney and Chinese developer Tencent announced this Friday (14) the development of Avatar: Reckoning, mobile MMORPG with versions for Android and iOS. Based on the film directed by James Cameron, the title promises to take players to Pandora, allowing them to explore “never-before-seen parts” of the world.

According to the companies, the game can be played in three ways: in single-player missions focused on the story, in battles against other players (PvP) and in co-op. The title promises to have RPG mechanics, including a system of levels and weapons with different intensities of power.

The promise is that Avatar: Reckoning will bring a “Innovative combat system built for touch screens”, with a focus on shooting systems. The title is being developed in Unreal Engine 4 and promises to bring “cutting edge graphics for mobile systems, which should receive it in 2022.

Although Tencent and Disney have already debuted the Avatar official site: Recknoning, so far it has a very limited amount of information. Described as an “MMORPG Shooter game for mobile”, the game allows interested players to sign up to receive the latest available news via email as soon as they are published.

In addition to the Chinese company, Ubisoft is also working on the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora adaptation, which promises to bring different stories and characters from those seen in James Cameron’s film. Exclusive to the current generation of consoles, the title promises to take advantage of all the graphic resources currently available and will bring mandatory Ray Tracing in all its versions.

Games must accompany a major marketing campaign focused on Avatar 2 release in theaters. After more than a decade in development, the film — originally scheduled to arrive in 2014 — has its premiere scheduled for December 16 this year. and brings the lasting mission to overcome the more than $2.847 billion at the box office than the 2019 original recorded.
