Astronomical Observatory is launched in Monclova

The National Polytechnic Institute and the president of Monclova launched the city’s Astronomical Observatory, the only one in Coahuila and made available to the public.

More than 100 citizens gathered at the site, in the highest part of the eco park, starting at seven in the afternoon to listen to lectures and talks on astronomy, as well as to see space.

In groups of 40 people they entered the interior of the observation center to observe on a screen what the telescope was capturing through the dome of the building.

The mayor Jesús Alfredo Paredes López; the director of the National Polytechnic Institute in Coahuila (IPN) Carlos Paredes; and the president of the Monclova Astronomy Club, Francisco Mtanous led the event.
