Argentina donated one million vaccines against Covid-19 to Egypt

Our country sent doses of AstraZeneca to African soil.

Egypt this week received a million vaccines against Covid-19 donated by Argentina, to deepen the fight against the pandemic in that African country. The program is coordinated by the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

The 1,000,000-dose shipment of AstraZeneca was received at Cairo International Airport by the Argentine Ambassador, Eduardo Varela, and by the Assistant Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Latin America of Egypt, Ambassador Ashraf Mounir.

The donations made by Argentina are managed by the Ministry of Foreign Relations, International Trade and Worship led by Santiago Cafiero in conjunction with the Ministry of Health, led by Carla Vizzotti, and are made as a result of the offer that Argentina has initiated by ensuring the stock of doses necessary to complete the distribution of vaccines for the entire target population.

At the end of December, the 500 thousand doses donated by our country arrived in the Philippines, and previously a million doses destined for Bolivia, in a special flight through an Air Force Hercules C-130.

Argentina has sent vaccines to Mozambique, Vietnam, Angola, Kenya, Barbados and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, exceeding 1.7 million doses among these countries.
