Cats are famous for their adventurous style. They are more independent than other pets such as dogs, so they are often able to go out and explore long distances.
This is a problem for cat owners, as they often do not know where their beloved pet is.
Fortunately, technology has also made life easier for pet owners. From now on, cat owners can always know where their little adventurous friend is.
The Waze of the cats
The Tractive company knows how difficult it is to go looking for a lost cat, so it launches the Tractive GPS Cat LTE tracker with a “live” mode.
This useful device offers owners real-time information that is updated every two or three seconds, a kind of Waze that uses geolocation to indicate where the feline is.
The company explains that Dr. Laura Lidauer, a specialist in animal behavior, also participated in the design of the tracker. His job was to make the device comfortable and safe for cats.
How does it work?
Tractive GPS Cat LTE works with a companion app that shows the cat’s location history, as well as a sort of heat map of the routes it’s taken and its most common hangouts over a year.
Thus, this device shows how long the animal has been in motion and even how long its nap has lasted (in case any owner wants to have that information).
Through a classification table, the user can know how active his cat is compared to other felines. This helps determine if the animal is in poor health or has experienced changes in activity level.
In this way, the Tractive GPS Cat LTE becomes a useful tool for cat owners to be aware of their pet’s whereabouts at all times.
This is not minor, considering that 36 percent of cat owners lose their pet at least once and about six million of these animals enter shelters each year in the United States.
For those who are interested, the Tractive GPS Cat LTE is available now and is priced at $50, with a $6.50 monthly subscription for monitoring.
