Attack of a man with a bow and arrow in Norway left several dead and wounded in the city of Kongsberg on Wednesday.
“The man has been arrested, from the information we have now this person carried out these actions alone,” the police chief told reporters. Oeyvind Aas, as reported by the agency Reuters.
The attacker began his attack in a supermarket in the mining city located 85 kilometers from Oslo, according to the local newspaper Expressen.
“Several people have been injured and several have died,” Aas said. Although he avoided specifying the number of victims and assured that it was not a terrorist attack.
The attacks took place in “a large area” of Kongsberg, a municipality of about 28,000 people in southeastern Norway, police said.
The Norwegian Minister of Justice and Public Safety, Monica Maeland, received updates on the attacks and was closely monitoring the situation, the ministry said.
