Vienna – This is what you call successful timing: During the government crisis and the retirement of the Federal Chancellor, the ORF Board of Trustees decided on Thursday to increase the ORF fees by eight percent without excessive media and political music. A majority in favor was already apparent on Monday after the finance committee of the ORF Foundation Council, which STANDARD reported. 26 of the 30 eligible voters – the five works councils are not entitled to this question – voted in favor, the three foundation councils of the FPÖ “Freundeskreis” against. The vote of a foundation council was lost because it could not be represented.
